Alpha Dog Canine Daycare Centre is an exclusive, fully licensed dog daycare facility located within our 30-acre farm in Sunniside, Gateshead, just 2 miles from the A1. Farm based dog day care is a safe and healthy alternative to using a dog walker. In essence your dog receives hours of play in a private setting with only temperament tested, social doggy friends. This provides the highest level of care in terms of socialisation, enrichment, exercise, love and attention in a safe, healthy indoor and outdoor environment.

We hold a ‘higher level’ license issued by Gateshead Council, reflecting our provision of the very highest level of canine welfare standards.
Indoors
Whether your best friend loves to run, jump, climb and explore, play with a group of pals or even just
lounge on a sofa in front of a toasty fire, Alpha Dog caters for every type of dog.
Outdoors
We have a large outdoor play paddock where dogs can play in and on a range of equipment available to
them, do a spot of agility, play in the sand pit or paddling pools or maybe take a snooze in the beach hut
or the dinky dog house!
Collection and Drop-Off
We understand how hectic the morning rush to work and school can be, the discovery of unfinished homework, missing car keys and a 9am meeting can make for a manic morning. You don’t need to worry about your four-legged friends’ day too.
Field Walks
If, as part of your dogs experience you would like your best friend to have an additional one to one lead walk in one of our empty fields, please just ask, there is no extra cost.
Safety
Although all our land is enclosed with stock fencing, we will not walk dogs in our outer fields without a lead, even if they have perfected the art of recall.
THE ULTIMATE CANINE EXPERIENCE
We are a 5 star licensed doggy daycare based in Streetgate, Sunniside. We are proud to have a climate controlled indoor daycare barn, secure outdoor play paddock, a large concrete front yard, agility, play apparatus, numerous engagement activities, acres of private on-site land for dog walking and a team of loving, qualified staff with years of canine experience. Our strength is that we provide a tailor-made experience to the requirements of each and every dog and their owner, whether they love lots of outdoor play and exercise, scent and retrieval games, a one to one walk in our fields or simply enjoy curling up in front of the fire with lots of cuddles. We offer a personalised experience for all of our dogs.
FREE LOCAL COLLECTION
We offer a free local collection and drop off service directly to and from our farm.
Our dog carers, all of which are DBS checked, collect the dogs on an area-based approach and transport directly to the farm to minimise travel time for dogs. Dogs are never stored inside vans.
QUALITY NOT QUANTITY
We recognise that large numbers of dogs running as a pack may be overwhelming for some dogs. For this reason, we only accept a maximum of 16 temperament tested dogs per day and operate a policy of a maximum of 8 dogs to each member of staff. By taking a smaller number of dogs we can ensure our day care dogs are given the individual fuss and attention that they deserve!
